My Interview by Chef Yosef Mevaker-El

Why It’s Important to Incorporate a Plant-Based diet

Let’s talk why it’s important for people to adapt a plant-based diet. Yesterday evening, I had the awesome opportunity to be a guest on the WBNN network with Chef Yosef Mekaver-El. We talked about my journey transitioning to plant-based eating and how everything affected my heart transplant. It put me in a place I love to be in: health and wellness.

The conversation was so intriguing. I was elated at the guests that called in and asked questions or just commented. I touched on what postpartum cardiomyopathy is and how it affected me for 16 years before I was able to finally reverse my heart disease, just to swallow water the wrong way and be a victim of sepsis. 

I won’t say too much about it because it is right here for you to listen to. Be sure to take heed to all the pointers being put out there. It’s something that everyone should hear and implement into their own health journeys.

So what did you think? Is a plant-based diet for you? Don’t say no! It’s something that is meant for all of us, whether you decide to eat meat or not. So here are a few things I mentioned in the interview:

Dr. Danielle Belardo is the cardiologist who brought food to my hospital room and explained to me just how weak my heart had gotten.

Dr. Baxter Montgomery is the cardiologist whose book I read in the hospital. I read it in one day and started drinking his lemonade recipe in his book, The Food Prescription for Better Health: A Cardiologist’s Proven Method to Reverse Heart Disease, Diabetes, Obesity, and Other Chronic Illnesses Naturally!
